Happy Thursdday!

This Sunday, we're doing something different: a free hour to quiet your mind with nothing but a Sharpie and a sheet of paper. Plus two stories worth your time — falling in love at 80, and a cruise experience that turned into a floating community.

That's a 50+ life!

A Free Creative Reset: One Sharpie, One Hour
No art experience needed — just a marker, some paper, and an open mind.
What can a black Sharpie and a blank sheet of paper do for a busy mind? More than you’d
think. Artist CJ Miller is inviting fyi50+ readers to The Studio Reset, a free live Zoom session where a few spontaneous lines become a way to quiet the mind, relieve stress, reconnect with the body, and see what wants to emerge next.

This isn’t about making a masterpiece. It’s about discovering how creativity can become a
doorway to presence. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or scattered, or simply
curious where art and mindfulness meet — spend an hour with CJ and try it firsthand. You’ll leave with a simple doodling practice you can return to anytime you need clarity, grounding, or a creative reset.
When: Sunday, June 28 | 4 pm CT, live on Zoom
Bring: A Sharpie, two large sheets of paper, and an open mind.
To join: RSVP to CJ Miller

Divorced twice, widowed once - and in love again in her eighties.

Diane Heiler once believed love happened only once. Life taught her otherwise. In this honest, tender essay, she shares the marriages that ended, the strength she found in starting over, and the unexpected love that arrived when she least expected it. Her message to anyone wondering whether that chapter has closed: the human heart doesn't retire.

She boarded for the snorkeling. She came home with the people.

You'd think a trip like this was all about the view. It wasn't. From Moorea to Sydney Harbor, Bev Graves found the most unforgettable part was the people she met along the way: the crew and passengers who'd built whole lives at sea. A waiter saving for a coffee shop back home. An 86-year-old retired teacher who calls the ship her permanent home. A "Downton Abbey at sea" full of people chasing purpose and passion, each with a story that began somewhere else.
